Tasks of Aquapol
The Council is responsible for decision making regarding:
- The objectives and tasks of the Association.
- The major operational activities of the Association.
- The expansion and development of the Association.
- The internal structure of the Association.
- The important financial decisions, including the yearly approval of the accounts and the payment of Director, Secretary and Treasurer (also see article 4.4).
- The tasks of Director, Secretary and Treasurer and regarding mandates to be given to these officials. The monitoring of the performance of these officials.
AQUAPOL working groups are established by the council. The number and tasking of working groups may vary over time and are subject to council decisions.Every working group is chaired by two council members, one acting as chairman and one as vice-chairman. For reasons of continuity, the vice-chairman will succeed the chairman after a period of two years. At the same time, a new vice-chairman will be appointed by the council.The chair person of a working group is responsible for progress of the working group.
Director

The Director is responsible for:
1. The day-to-day management activities of the Association.
2. The external networking activities as far as not covered by the president.
3. New membership, as far as not covered by the president.
4. Contacts with EU institutions as far as not covered by the president.
5. Search for financial sources for AQUAPOL.
6. Yearly financial- and operational planning.
7. Reporting to the Council regarding the activities of Director, Secretary and Treasurer.
President
Helmut Oberle
The president represents the council of members. The president chairs the council meetings and the meetings of the Executive Committee and is responsible for AQUAPOL’s policy on headlines. Together with the Director he is responsible for external networking, lobby activities and membership. The Vice president replaces the president in his absence and is a member of the Executive Committee. The Vice-president prepares him/her self for the year he/she will be president.
Secretary General
Hilde Van Mulken
The Secretary is responsible for:
1.Preparation of the meetings of the Council and the Executive Committee.
2.Preparing the minutes of the AQUAPOL Council and Executive Committee meetings.
3.The chair persons of AQUAPOL working groups are themselves responsible for the minutes of their meetings. The Secretary collects the minutes and hives the documents.
4.Keeping the Association’s records and correspondence up to date.
5.The AQUAPOL archives.
6.Monitoring of progress regarding decisions taken by Council, Executive committee and working groups.
7.Keeping the AQUAPOL website up-to-date.
